Accounts Payable Specialist at Rolling Hills Casino Corning, CA 96021

Performs a variety of Accounts Payable functions in an efficient and timely manner.
Follows established policies and procedures of Rolling Hills Casino.
Reviews, process and inputs vendor invoices to meet bimonthly check run deadlines.
Verifies purchase orders and receiving documents to invoices.
Ensures that proper authorization and signatures have been received.
Verifies account coding and dollar amounts are accurate.
Prepares vendor pay packets by matching invoices to printed checks, submit for proper signatures, breaking down pay packets and mailing checks.
Maintains a proper filing system for vendor pay packets.
Ensuring pay packets and vendor correspondence are filed in a timely manner.
Reconciles monthly vendor statements, assuring that all listed invoices and credit memos are processed and paid in a timely manner.
Works with vendors and department supervisors to resolve any discrepancies regarding invoices, credit memos and payments ensuring services are not interrupted, prepare miscellaneous correspondance regarding payables.
Acts as a team member to the department and to each other, cooperating on projects and assignments.
Responsive, accountable and provide feedback to fellow employees and management.

QualificationsKnowledge of financial applications, proficient in basic computer skills.
Experience in Microsoft Suit and 10-key.
Sage Accounting software preferred.
Knowledge of general accounting practices.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Education/ExperienceAA degree or two years' experience or a combination of education and experience required.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply basic math and algebra skills.
